Zhengzhou Airport - Zhoukou Xihua Highway Phase II (East Ring Highway, Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone) project starts from the north of Guandu Town of Zhongmou County in Henan, connected with Lianhuo Highway, and ends at northwest of Daying Town of Weishi County, and is linked with the first phase of the Zhengzhou Airport - Zhoukou Xihua Highway, passing Zhongmou County, Kaifeng New Area, Weishi County, with a total length of 45.1 km, and a total estimated investment of 5.003 billion yuan. The project adopts the technical indicators for six-lane highway; the main roadbed is 34.5 meters wide, with a design speed of 120 km / h. The project was started in June 2015, and is expected to be completed in 2017.
The Zhengzhou Airport - Zhoukou Xihua Highway Phase II project is located in Zhengzhou, the most economically developed region in Henan Province, and will serve the major growth pole in the future - the Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone, which is of great significance for building the national level circulation node cities in Zhengzhou. The construction of Zhengzhou Airport - Zhoukou Xihua Highway Phase II project will help to further improve the integrated transport system and the highway network of the province, and has great significance for serving the construction of Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone, promoting the rapid coordinated development of the industry cluster along the road, forming the important growth pole of the economic development in the central area, and promoting the rise of central area of China.
On January 16, 2014, the Department of Environmental Protection of Henan Province approved the environmental impact report of the project with the document coded of Yu Huan Shen [2014] No. 49.
